Kripalu Yoga
Kripalu Yoga is a style widely recognized as “meditation in motion.” It is a non-judgmental, compassionate and transformational practice of encountering and releasing physical, mental, and emotional tensions to arrive at deeper levels of relaxation and awareness.
Beyond learning how to stretch and strengthen, Kripalu Yoga is an approach in which you learn about yourself by being present to sensations, emotions, and thoughts that are constantly flowing through you. This type of experiential learning awakens your innate knowledge of what is good for you.
This style of yoga isn’t limited to those with a flexible and/or trim body. It doesn’t require the adoption of any religious beliefs, it is not based on the guru/disciple relationship. It simply offers a model that empowers the learner to discover what is true of themselves based on their own experience. It does not demand excessive commitment; it requires nothing more than loose fitting clothing and a regular practice. Even 10 minutes daily can make a real difference.
Integrated Positional Therapy
Positional Therapy is a hands on approach to releasing a body’s painful holding patterns. IPT incorporates techniques such as Strain/Counterstrain, stretching and home care to re-align the body’s structure and relieve pain caused by structural imbalances. IPT effectively addresses pain patterns caused by injury, stress, repetitive strain, postural distortion and chronic neuromuscular conditions.
