Herbal Prescriptions

Chinese Herbal Medicine aims to strengthen your body so it can combat illness on its own. It is generally delivered in one of ways – capsules or teas that come in either powder or bulk (twigs, leaves and fruits etc) form. Classic formulas are generally encapsulated but when modified or custom formulas are needed, they are made as teas. People who have difficulty swallowing pills may also appreciate teas. Chinese Herbs are very safe when prescribed by a qualified herbalist and oftentimes, Chinese Herbs and acupuncture can be combined with more conventional western treatments.

Nutritional Therapy

In Chinese Medicine, the only way a person can reinforce the integrity of the finite amount of energy given at birth is by the air breathed and the food eaten. Food is looked at from an herbal and energetic point of view. All food has flavors, directions and can nourish certain organs, fluids or substances within the body. It even has temperature and color. All of these characteristics influence how foods are chosen for a diet. It is important to remember that there isn’t a food or diet that is perfect for everyone. No food in the world is wholly good or wholly bad, there is good and bad in all food; everything depends on the individual and the pattern within.
